About the UPSL
Since 2011, the United Premier Soccer League has grown from 10 teams in Santa Ana, California to nearly 400 clubs competing nationwide, making it the largest pro-development league in North America. Operating in the 4th tier of the US Soccer pyramid with an average player age of 22.5 years, the UPSL bridges the critical gap between youth and professional soccer, providing structure and opportunity for thousands of aspiring players and coaches. The league welcomes participants from 90 nations, with over 50% of players and coaches of Hispanic descent, reflecting its commitment to openness, inclusion, and accessibility.
The UPSL operates year-round with Spring and Fall seasons, offering independently owned clubs the chance to compete for national championships and qualify for the U.S. Open Cup through its affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation. Since its acquisition by ELP Brands in 2020, the league has expanded to include UPSL MX, a Women's division, and the UPSL Foundation, while achieving direct membership as a USSF National Affiliate in 2022. Headquartered in Miami with a satellite office in Los Angeles, the UPSL remains dedicated to raising standards across all levels of soccer and bringing international exposure to local talent throughout North America.
