Registration FAQs
Why do I have to register my child for soccer so early?
Uniform orders can take several weeks. We also have a deadline on the website for team, coach, teammate, and practice day requests. Additionally, the paperwork to handle insurance, team roster and scheduling is monumental and takes time.
When will my coach contact me?
Your coach will contact you as soon as they have completed all training requirements and the rosters are finalized.
How many games are there in a season?
There are approximately 10 games per season.
What does my registration pay for?
Fees pay for insurance, soccer equipment, referees, training costs and all the other things required to run this type of program. It does not pay for the uniform.
How and when do I get my uniform?
After registration, you will receive an email from the club via Gotsport, the program through which you registered your player, with an order link to soccer.com to order your uniforms. Your uniforms will be shipped directly to you, and can take several weeks, so please order your uniforms as soon as possible. If you have an issue with your uniform, you will need to work directly with soccer.com. The club cannot help with vendor issues.
Does my child need cleats to play?
Although shinguards are required, cleats are not. Many younger children are more comfortable in their sneakers. Older children will want the traction that their cleats provide.
Can my child play with jewelry or beads in their hair?
No jewelry or anything that could cause harm to other players or themselves can be worn. This rule includes hair beads and barrettes and even casts. We recommend that ears be pierced between seasons because earrings must be removed to play. This is a Florida Youth Soccer rule, not discretionary for referees or club officials.
Practices & Games
When will practices begin?
Practices will begin approximately 2 weeks before the start of the season. The Spring season generally begins the first or second weekend of March. The Fall season generally begins the end of August.
Where are practices?
The majority of practices are held at the club. Based on which location you registered for, you would practice at Eagle Harbor Soccer Complex or Ringhaver Park.
When are practices?
Practice days and times for all age groups are set by the coach on Monday / Wednesday or Tuesday / Thursday at 5 pm or later for one hour.
The majority of practices are held at the Dennis Viollet Soccer Complex in Eagle Harbor. But we also have teams that practice and play the majority of their games at our secondary facility, Ringhaver Field in Ortega.
Why are some teams practicing and my child hasn’t heard from a coach?
Players and spectators are kept separate to aid the coach and referees in team management. It helps the coach to have all the players in one place. It helps the player to understand that his instructions come to the coach during the game if he does not have the distractions of the family around.
Can my child bring a friend to practice?
Only players and coaches registered to can participate in our practices and games. Other are not covered by our insurance.
When and where are games played?
The majority of games will be played on Saturdays with the possibility of an occasional Friday night or Sunday game depending on the number of teams in the players’ particular age group. All games are played at our Eagle Harbor Complex or Ringhaver Field.
Why are the teams and spectators on opposite sides of the field?
Players and spectators are kept separate to aid the coach and referees in team management. It helps the coach to have all the players in one place. It helps the player to understand that his instructions come to the coach during the game if he does not have the distractions of the family around.
